Relaunch of www. research-in-germany.de

The revised and extended English language internet portal www.research-in-germany.de is online. The portal, an initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, provides foreign researchers and scientists with a wealth of easily accessible information about research opportunities in Germany. The German Academic Exchange Service has editorial responsibility for the portal.

New features include a news and events section, a web guide with over 200 links, and a meta search tool for searching German R&D internet sites. An English language newsletter providing news and details of events in the German research world is to be launched soon. In addition, the portal provides extensive information on country and subject specific priorities and initiatives of the BMBF.

The portal is aimed at foreign researchers and scientists, prime movers in business and politics, as well as up and coming young researchers, and is a useful tool for all considering co-operation with German partners, a research visit to Germany, or investment in German research.

“With this portal we aim to present the key research areas in Germany and invite you to get to know the ‘Land of Ideas’. Our research institutions will be happy to hear from you and to discuss potential co-operation”, said Dr. Annette Schavan, the Federal Minister of Education and Research.

The BMBF campaign "Promotion of Germany as a Place for Innovation and Research " was launched in November 2006 under the slogan "Research in Germany – Land of Ideas" to establish Germany in the international research world . The internet portal www.research-in-germany.de serves as an information platform for universities as well as for R&D networks.
