  • Plasticity is the attribute of organisms to change their characteristic values under the influence of environmental factors. Therefore, neuroplasticity is the characteristic of neurons to change their response behaviour dependent from their activity. In most cases, the strength of the synaptic transmission is influenced (synaptic plasticity). The neuroplasticity or synaptic plasticity, respectively, is considered to be the basic mechanism in learning processes and in the formation of memories.

The ScienceCampus Halle and the Leading-Edge Cluster BioEconomy cordially invite you to the 8th International Bioeconomy Conference in Halle on 13 - 14 May 2019. The motto this year is “Bio meets Economy – Science meets Industry”.

The conference was first held in 2012 and is now regarded as one of the most important bioeconomy events in Germany. Every year it brings together internationally renowned representatives of science and industry to discuss the latest research findings, innovations and current developments on the market.

The bioeconomy has broad-ranging approaches for plant research, for agriculture and forestry, for the chemical and plastics industry, the energy industry and innovative materials. The 8th International Bioeconomy Conference in major topics represents new issues and insights. International experts will speak about sustainability and socio-economical aspects, biobased value chains, biorefining, high value products and about stress tolerance and productivity of plants. The Partner region in 2019 will be South Amerika.

In keeping with the motto “Bio meets Economy – Science meets Industry”, the two-day event offers interesting lectures on the topics of

  1. social-economic issues of the bioeconomy,
  2. challenges and chances within the sugar-based bioeconomy,
  3. plant productivity for a growing bioeconomy,
  4. the pathway to sucess with biotech products and
  5. research highlights funded by BMBF.
