Climate change and climate protection are the central fields of action of our time. Mandatory CO2 reduction targets and implementation strategies (Green Deal, Fit for 55) have been agreed for all economic sectors at both European and national level. In addition to the goal of climate neutrality and the EU‘s plan to achieve negative emissions after 2050, the European Climate Change Act of April 2021 sets a binding climate target to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55 % by 2030 compared to 1990. This affects all sectors of the economy.
The transformation of the economy towards a sustainable, resource-efficient and climate-friendly bioeconomy has a key function here.
Agriculture is also strongly challenged. The Federal Climate Protection Act, which was tightened up in August 2021, requires the agricultural sector to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 20 % from 2020 to 2030 and at the same time calls for an increase in the sink effect of the entire land use sector to at least minus 40 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2045. Mandatory annual interim targets have been set and climate protection measures defined for this purpose.
These topics and fields of action will be addressed at the congress 2022, and solutions will be presented and discussed by expert speakers and participants.
The Lower Saxony Climate Protection Act sets priorities for better system integration of renewable energies, as well as in the area of sustainable mobility. These fields of action have been and are currently being worked on in the German-Dutch Interreg cooperation projects (Bioeconomy – green chemistry, H2 chance, Green across the Border) as well as in the state project »Bio-LNG Model Region«. These results should also be presented to a broad professional audience.
Make sure to join us and more than 200 participants from all over the world for inspiring discussions about the bio-economy, green chemistry and sustainable concepts for land use. There will be many opportunities for networking with experts from research and politics and you will have the possibility to exchange experience with hands-on experts and entrepreneurs.
Companies, knowledge institutes and research institutes are cordially invited to submit posters or present themselves as exhibitors (online).
The event series "ECOinnovations from biomass" takes place every two years for the seventh time, with an interruption due to Corona. It is carried out in close technical cooperation with the Interreg project Carbon Farming.
Exhibition
Accompanying the lecture blocks, we offer a digital poster exhibition and company presentation. This will be offered in the foyer of the conference hotel and online. If you are interested in participating, we would be pleased to receive your poster and/or company registration.
By submitting your poster, you will have the opportunity to share research findings with policy makers, company representatives, and representatives of research and funding agencies and other research institutions. Posters can be from across the bioeconomy spectrum and should present recent research and project results or innovations. To complement your poster, you may submit a short video or audio file (max. 3 min.) introducing the poster. Please make the audio/video file available to us free of third-party rights. The easiest way is to upload your file to a video portal, such as Vimeo or YouTube, and send us the link.
You can register a poster or your company/institution using the form below. Please send the completed form, your materials and the signed copyright agreement via email or e.g. wetransfer to the Goettingen office (E-mail: goettingen(at)3-n.info). Deadline for submission is March 4, 2022.
